Tomorrow we haul 600 books to the workroom, number and sign them in preparation for Saturday’s launch party. Here are a few house keeping guidelines to make your book pick-up smooth. It’ll be a full house at the shop, with snacks, decorations and all the projects on display. Karyn is offering 15% off in-stock merchandise at the shop for anyone picking up their book! How great is that?
Books will not be available until Saturday at 10am. You can come anytime from 10-6, or another day, if you can’t join us this weekend.
If you aren’t stopping by the shop, follow on social media with #handmadegetaway.
Please bring your Kickstarter backer number, ID, or any email from Kickstarter/ Backerkit with you to pick up you book (and other items as purchased).
If you are sending someone on your behalf, please ensure they have your backer number or an email from Kickstarter.
You don’t need to print it out, just have something to show our awesome team of volunteers when you pick up your book.
We’re hoping to capture photos of everyone with their books, so whether you are at the shop Saturday or at home in the future when your book arrives, please take a pic of yourself with your book as we’ll be having an online contest in the coming weeks for our Kickstarter backers. If you are at the shop Saturday, you’ll find lots of great quilt backdrops from the book.
We will have shipping updates as soon as we start shipping the rest of the books.
They’ll start shipping in the next couple of weeks.

We’re having a launch party at the workroom in Toronto Saturday from 10 AM to 6 PM. If you’ve selected local pick-up please join us.
If you’d like to pick up your book and didn’t Pre-select local pick-up, come by that day and send us an email at [email protected], to let us know you’ll be there.
If you can’t join us Saturday, you still be able to pick up your book at the workroom at your convenience.
Next week we will begin shipping out all of the kickstarter orders around the world. We are just waiting on the fancy boxes to keep the books protected while they’re in transit.

We’re hosting a pick-up party at the workroom in Toronto on July 7th. If you’ve decided to pick up your book (et al), this is your magical day! Don’t worry if you can’t make it, we will have the books (and other rewards) for you at the shop after that date as well. We encourage you to come on the 7th, as we’ll have all the projects from the book on display, as well as snacks and other treats.
If you were not planning on picking up your book, but do in fact want to pick up your book on July 7th, please either update your survey to indicate pick-up, or shoot us a quick email at [email protected]. Please include your name AND Kickstarter order number. If you can’t get that sorted, come on the 7th anyhow, and we will do our best to get you your book.
Whether you live near or far, the pick-up party is your indication that the books are arriving from the printer really soon! We will be shipping all the books and rewards as fast as we can. If you’ve completed your backerkit survey, we thank you! If not, hop to it!

We're excited to share that the books are being printed as I type. Karyn is getting updates and images from the printer and I'm jumping for joy when she sends them to me (see example below- from the printer, not me jumping for joy)! I'm an industrial designer and tech geek, so I love seeing pictures direct from the printer.
We will be sending updates to all of our Kickstarter retailers shortly, and we will confirm when we have the books in hand and are ready to ship.
We are planning a weekend pick-up party at the workroom in Toronto, so you'll hear about that as well. Date to follow.
We look forward to sharing this book with you and thank you for your patience as we jumped over the final hurtles to get this book finished.
